Textbooks, frequently used research literature, newly aquired books from subject collections, dictionaries and standards are placed in the library.

The remaining research literature, older volumes of journals and theses from University of Vaasa, VAMK University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences are placed in closed stacks. You can place a request in Finna for material that can be borrowed, while material that only can be read in the library must be ordered with a separate online form. The staff collects the material from the closed stacks every working day. The material is found in the reservation shelf in the library. The publications from the University of Vaasa and Novia and VAMK universities of applied sciences as well as material from the special collections are in closed stacks. They cannot be borrowed, but can be requested with a online form and then read in the library. You can place a request for journals with a separate form, for reading and copying in the library.

The library has different kinds of study spaces, a quiet study room and group study rooms that can be booked online. The service desk, the custodians’ desk, the self-service machines for lending and returning and computers for quick searches are located on the first floor. The second floor has more spaces for studying. There is also a self-service café with a hot drink vending machine in the library.
